Elm Creek Methodist Church, Guadalupe County, Texas. Late 19th Century.

Reverend Johann Heinrich August ("J.A.") Schaper, with hearing horn, is in the doorway. He is thought to have been the minister at the time. The picture dates to about 1886 when he was sixty years old. The man on the front row with a white beard is Reverend Ott. The two men on the right side of the front row are thought to be Reverend Gerhardt Gerdes, a Methodist Missionary, and Rev. Ernst Frnzel, one-time Elm Creek pastor, shown with his wife.
